FREE BOOK “Sing ye to Jehovah . . . the song of Moses . . .and the song of the Lamb”

By Kenneth J. Wells

For many years Christians in Churches of Christ have commonly claimed that the use of musical instruments in song worship is an unauthorized and “sinful” addition to New Testament worship.

They interpret the New Testament command/word “sing” to mean only sing (i.e. to sing a cappella). “Sing ye to Jehovah . . . the song of Moses . . . and the song of the Lamb” is published to challenge this traditional, but overly literal, Church of Christ interpretation of the word “sing.”  The author studies the use of the word “sing” in both the Old and New Testaments. This book deals with necessary implications found in the Old and New Testaments that relate to the subject of Christian song worship.

The author addresses other beliefs and practices that have been sources of disagreement/division among Churches of Christ since 1907. He also asks all Christians to reconsider a formula for Christian unity once promoted by Thomas Campbell. This scriptural approach for Christian unity proved successful in the past when consistently followed between 1809 through 1849.
